Concrete-metallic effect

All that glitters is not gold. Sometimes wood does too. Wood that has been finished with the new concrete-metallic coating cycle from ADLER and allows furniture and kitchen fronts to shine in the most attractive metal colours. ADLER application engineer, Dominik Schwaiger, shows you step by step how to create a gently glittering, shimmering concrete-metallic mix in gold.

Steps

  1. STEP 1 – CREATING THE CONCRETE EFFECT

Stir the ADLER Betoneffekt well by hand. Next, apply the ADLER Betoneffekt in the desired colour (here Daquiri) with a stainless steel trowel – preferably in an irregular pattern. Let your workpiece dry overnight and then sand it with grain size 60-80. You will find a precise description about the preparation and how to apply the concrete effect here.

  2. STEP 2 – PRIME WITH PIGMOPUR

ADLER Pigmopur (G50) is now sprayed on in the colour Gold. We need this step to achieve optimal covering capacity.

  3. STEP 3 – CREATING THE BRILLIANT-METALLIC EFFECT

The Pigmopur paint must now be left to dry at room temperature for at least three hours, at the most overnight. Then the shiny surface finish is applied with ADLER Brilliant-Metallic. To do so, you spray the primed area without intermediate sanding with Brilliant-Metallic in the colour Gold. Make sure it is sprayed on thinly and evenly from two sides.

  4. STEP 4 – TOP COAT USING PIGMOTOP

The top coat using ADLER Pigmotop is applied at the earliest after five hours but at the latest after six hours' drying time of ADLER Brilliant-Metallic. We recommend using Pigmotop in gloss level 70 for the top coat to bring out the best of the texture on your showpiece. Then let your workpiece dry overnight. Alternatively, according to ADLER expert Dominik Schwaiger, it is also possible to paint over with ADLER PUR-Glanzlack.
The result is a surface that will bring a sparkle to your eyes!
Incidentally, the Brilliant-Metall-Look also comes in four other trendy shades –Silver, Bronze, Copper and Titanium.
