Prepare the metallic coat properly

Colour brings joy. But only when it remains bonded on the substrate. In case of metallic primer coats, you are often disappointed if you forget the pre-treatment required. Hence, clean and degrease all metallic surfaces before applying a new coat on them. It is only in this way that you can keep rust at bay and ensure long life of the coating. Proper and careful substrate treatment is the secret for any durable coating. This is the only in which quality coatings can demonstrate their strengths.

If rust has already attacked the surface, it is recommended to remove the loose and non-adhesive rust to begin with. Even coatings that can tolerate a certain amount of rust benefit from this. It is best to get rid of the dark red villain using grinding fleece.

Work steps at a glance:

1. Remove the loose rust using a wire brush or grinding material and convert the residual rust using ADLER Ferroblock.
2. Sand off the infiltration of rust at specific locations.
3. Degrease galvanised surfaces and aluminium using ADLER Entfetter and an abrasive fleece and sand the surfaces at the same time.
